At the end of 2008 I decided that 2009 was going to be the year that I got my self back.  I have had so many things to deal with that have really taken their toll on me but starting this year I was going to take better care of me.  One of the first things on the list was I wanted to get contacts again.  I had them before having children and had always loved them and I wanted them back.  Of course, I needed to visit the eye doctor anyway and optimally get a new prescription for my glasses as well because I could tell my vision had changed.  So now it it is official…I am old.  I NEEDED FREAKIN’ BIFOCALS!!  I tell ya, a seeing eye dog is next. lol

The site has glasses (lenses and frames) that are conservative to mildly trendy and start at – no joke – $7.95.  Now, if you are one of those people who just has to have a zillion styles to choose from, well, they may not meet your needs but for me, they were great.  Not only do they carry eye glasses for both men and women but sunglasses and goggles as well. Their site is very easy to use with the exception of the Eye Try feature where you can upload your image and virtually try the glasses on to see how they would look.  It took a little patience but did the trick and I made my choice.

Ordering was very easy. They lead you through the ordering process step by step, even giving you the option to save your choices and come back to them later.  As you add items like a bifocal lens in my case, they keep a running total going for you so you have no surprises at checkout time.  They do not accept insurance but most other major forms of payment.

Now here is the best part.  When I placed my order, I had  computer trouble at a crucial moment.  It was late and I was tired and planned to get back to it in the morning.  To my pleasant surprise, the next morning I had an email waiting for me from EyeBuyDirect.com stating that they had received my incomplete order and with easy to follow directions on how to correct the issue.  As nice as that was, I was using a special code as payment and wound up needing to speak with them directly.  Now, when I finally called them, they were under no real obligation to honor my code in my opinion but did so in a friendly and helpful way.  The entire order was even followed up with a personal email from the customer service source I had spoken with.  I was really impressed!

As for my glasses, they arrived quickly, exactly as they said they would.  The real test though, came when I put them on for the first time.  It was awesome – I LOVED them!  I chose a pair of the Flexlite and they are so comfortable.  I also think they are pretty much indestructable – a real plus with small childten and animals around.  As soon as I get rid of this headache pain, I will take a picture for ya.
