He started when he was 17 and progressed to 4 packs a day. Incredible, isn't it? He constantly had a cigarette in his hand, and preferred smoking to eating. It was tough because when he quit he quickly gained 15 lbs, which made him depressed and want to smoke again! But through the grace of god, he finally was able to tame that demon after a year. Becoming an ex wasn't around when my dh was qutting, but I think this would have been a valuable resource during that difficult time. I am so happy my dh finally stopped smoking.
