Wanna Become AN EX?
Hey you. You know who I mean. Yeah, you, the one I am talking to. Ever considered making a change. No, I am not talking a small, tiny, itty bitty change. I am talking about an all encompassing, cost saving, health improving, life lengthening, type of change. I am talking about stopping smoking.
To break it down, they want you to become AN EX. The AD Council and Legacy have given me some terrific information to share with you.

Quitting smoking is one of the most difficult and important lifestyle changes a person can make. Of course right about then is when you would say, ‘how would I know having never smoked a day in my life?’ Well, you are right. I personally do not know. But my brother does, my cousin does, one of my Mom’s uncles did, one of my best gal pals does, and Walt Disney, and John Wayne, and list goes on. Then if you really want to get my blood boil, you assume the reason that my dad contracted and died from Lung Cancer HAD to be from smoking, well, you go right ahead and be wrong, (He was a fire fighter in Industrial Los Angeles for 20 years long before all of the protective gear they wear today).
Sure Seventy percent of smokers in America want to quit, but only about five percent of smokers are successful in quitting long-term. Most people just don’t know how to quit. That’s where becoming AN EX comes in. Becoming AN EX is unique because it teaches smokers how to “re-learn” life without cigarettes. That is the hard part.
Every Tuesday for the next two weeks, we’re asking our blogger friends to post an image dedicated to a trigger. You may not smoke, or ever had to quit, but I’m sure you have triggers in your life that cause you to react a little out of the ordinary. It could be a celebrity photo, ex-bf, a fashion no-no, a picture of the traffic jam you’re stuck in- anything. It’s actually more like confession Tuesday, what triggers your bad habits?
For visuals and other assets you can use on your post: http://assets.becomeanex.org/
Two winners will receive the EX – quitpack complete with a ex-backpack, air freshener, trigger cards and stickers, cup holder, re-learn booklet and EX instructions.
More about EX:
Become an EX.org is an online community dedicated to smokers who are looking to kick their “butts” for good, through a FREE online quit-plan.
The becoming AN EX plan is all about HOW, and works by helping you:
· Learn the truth vs. myths about nicotine and smoking
· Identify their personal “smoking triggers”- habits that make you want
to smoke.
· EX helps smokers “practice” and deal with their ‘smoking triggers” without reaching for a light.
Most importantly, EX wants you to know that you are not alone. EX offers online support groups and various communities that will serve as your own personal therapist, your quit buddy, and your friend. You can find out more at BecomeAnEX.org.
Remember, becoming this kind if an EX is and it is FREE. What have you got to lose other that a bad habit??

I am so happy my dh finally stopped smoking. He started when he was 17 and progressed to 4 packs a day. Incredible, isn’t it? He constantly had a cigarette in his hand, and preferred smoking to eating. It was tough because when he quit he quickly gained 15 lbs, which made him depressed and want to smoke again!
But through the grace of god, he finally was able to tame that demon after a year.
Becoming an ex wasn’t around when my dh was qutting, but I think this would have been a valuable resource during that difficult time.
