Triaminic Makes Kids Want To Strip…In A Good Way

13 July 2010

trilogo Triaminic Makes Kids Want To Strip...In A Good WaySnifff… don’t let Summer placate you you into thinking there is no need to worry about cough, colds, allergies or yes, even the Flu.  While the concern about them may be less, the germs are still alive and kickin and making us and our children plenty miserable.  I know P2 has just had to finish her 2nd round of antibiotics with a wicked ear infection.  No fun.  Thankfully we have great over the counter medicines like the Triaminic brand to help us out.

You may have heard about the new recommendations that children under the age of four not be given certain over-the-counter cough and cold medications. Here is Triaminic’s statement on this situation, from their website:

The makers of these medicines are voluntarily changing the product labeling to read “Do not use for children under age 4″. For products containing antihistamines, labeling will include the instructions “do not use for the purpose of making your child sleepy.” These labeling changes are being made in consultation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and out of an abundance of caution to help avoid unintentional consumer misuse of these products.

Triaminic® products are safe and effective when used as directed and have been used to relieve children’s cough and cold symptoms for more than 50 years. We care about your children’s safety and want to assure you that you can continue to use Triaminic® products as directed for your children age 4 and older.

Our focus is on re-labeling our Triaminic® products to clearly reflect the new directions to help guide parents and caregivers on the safe and appropriate use of these products.

Probably the thing I love most about these Triaminic strips, aside from the fact that they are pre-measured and incredibly easy to administer is that can carry them in my purse, ready when needed. I also love that my kids do not mind taking then and we do not have to have a battle just to get the medicine in them.  So thanks Triaminic for happily getting our kids to like medicine.
