RSV and What You Should Know About It #World Prematurity Day

I worked for Dr. Gerald Moore, an Allergy and Pediatric Pulmonary specialist, for more than five years and I loved it.  I learned so much while under his employ from things about allergies and allergy shots to pulmonary diseases like Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and Asthma to nasty life-threatening viruses like RSV(respiratory syncytial virus).  While there is no cure or preventative for CF and Asthma, thankfully there is for RSV.
With each year’s first chill in the air, parents rush to stock up on cold medicine, tissues, and vitamin supplements. While most …

It’s a Jungle Out There!

We  have been huge Baby Einstein fans since baby numero uno arrived in our arms.  They were soothing and calming while at the same time educational and entertaining for parent and child….yes child….they continued to hold my children’s interest as they grew so we would play them not just with a baby in the house but even now, with no more babies and ages 4, 8, and 9.  I was going to give this as a give away, instead, thanks to my 4 year old you are getting a review. …

2010 Holiday Gift Guide: My Bum Book #Giveaway(ended)

Visualize being in the hospital after having just given birth to your first living, breathing baby.  The nurse rolls the bassinet into your room, momentarily turns her back to you and turns back holding this little bundle you foggily think you wanted so badly for so long.  Oh, wait, you want ME to take her, your baby, you realize.  And then what?  You are handing me a bottle…you mean like I am supposed to feed her?  Hasn’t someone else been doing that?  Oh and there is stuff about charts and …

Scrap booking…something for everyone

I have mentioned before that I am a scrapbook aficionado, something I would love to spend oh so much more time doing than I do.  When my Mom and I started, there was no such thing as digital scrapbooking, in fact you barely used your printer while scrap booking at all.  Then, because I used the computer easily,I would begin to type up poems or quotes but they were still black and white and not a huge drain on an inkcartridge.
Time passed though and we all expanded our abilities and …

Wordless(ful) Wednesday – My Babies aren’t Babies any more but…

But they can still wear cute hats from My Baby Clothes Boutique
And my youngest is very good at acting goofy.
But hats are a very minor part of what they carry at My Baby Clothes Boutique.  Their baby clothes are stylish, unique, trendy, frufru, memorable, and down right adorable.

And those are just the girly things because , let’s face it, you know how easy it is for boys to be overlooked and be left in the minor, oh-yawhn category.  Not here at My Baby Clothes Boutique.  Even the boy things are …

My Baby 3 & Friends for Nintendo DS

I am so excited because My Baby3 and Friends is coming out next month.  Not excited for myself but for my 9 year old who just  has adored playing My Baby #2.  In fact, she has My Baby #1 on her Christmas list already. When she sees this she will go bonkers!
In case you are not familiar with My Baby 3 and Friends, it is a program written exclusively for Nintendo DS and has sold something like 2 million from the 1st 2 versions of the simulated life of a …

PhotoWorks Presents: From China With Love (Review)

When I was offered to review an American Greetings PhotoWorks Studio Book that was baby themed, I was so excited. I had been planning to make one yet not just for any baby – for my P3.  As our pictures of her first 10 months are minimal, I felt while it could prove a bit challenging with the typical American shades of pink for baby girls, I wanted to make the most of what we have.  I never want her to feel that she was unloved just because she …

How to Fund an Adoption – Shopping Adoption-Style!

When you are waiting for your precious child, it can seem like forever and as we all know, money does not grow on trees.  Most adoptive families get very, very creative in ways to save, find and/or make the money they will need for the expenses that just normally accrue with the adoption of a child.  In our case, we held some awesome garage sales, saved, and incurred some debt.  We were incredibly blessed by the kindness and generosity of others and will be forever grateful.

coverPlug – A Fantastic Coverup! Review and Giveaway(Ended)

On the heels of  my recent post about the Baby List book, let me tell you about another cool product I have been able to review ~ coverPlug.  coverPlug is one of the more unique electrical outlet covers I have seen.  They are designed to be “out of sight, out of mind” for toddlers and with a toddler like my P3 running around, well, they could not have been more timely.
P3 has become such a happy typical toddler and to her, exploration is the name of the game.  Me, I …

Baby Lists – What I wouldn’t have given for a good copy! Review & Giveaway(Ended)

If you recall, P1 is our daughter that we adopted domestically at birth.  We learned that her birthmom had selected us to be her family about two months before she was due to be born.  We were beside ourselves with excitement but had to do the best we could to keep it all under wraps until it was a done deal, so to speak, just in case the adoption did not go through. So during those two months, we knew we were hopefully adopting a newborn but that was about …

P1 and P3

3 P’s in a Pod
No, we have not disappeared nor have we decided never to write again. Life has been, well….a tad busy.;)
We returned from China safe and sound without any notable glitches. We were so happy to be home and see those smiling faces waiting for us at the airport. My in-laws had been a lifesaver and P1, P2, Brett, my cat, and the house were all intact.
P3 was a real trooper throughout the whole thing and settled into getting acquainted with the rest …

My fabulous Oct DTC group recently held our (first?) Cyber Shower. While I was unable to be online for the group opening and chat, I was able to enjoy the package of goodies lovingly put together for P3 by my friend Mary. The really fun thing was that I had been looking at those very same onesies and had just not quite managed to justify their purchase as yet.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you My Friend!!!!
