Sometimes you just feel like you got blindsided by this whole parenting thing (didn’t we all!). You are a complex mama! You don’t let your kids push you or anyone else around, but you are also able to chill out and see what’s really important (letting kids be kids). You do your best to get the kids a healthy meal but if pizza pops up three nights in a row, so be it. And if the Lion is the King of the Jungle, then you – Cool Cat that you are – must be Queen. As queens tend to be, you are more suited to expert supervision than down and dirty tussling with the cubs. You know how to involve them in important activities of course, but Mama’s got to have her space! Your kids are well-behaved, and a joy to be around, but don’t expect to be the mom the kids go to for playing catch or building forts. The kids are aware that you’d rather watch than play, and that’s probably just fine by you!
