Have You Ever Participated in a Clinical Trial?

10 April 2010

So have you?

Not sure what one is?  Well, let’s start with that.

A Clinical Trial is one of the ways Drug Companies test their products prior to getting permission from the FDA to make them available to the general public.  They have very strict guidelines that must be followed and monitored by Doctors, Hospitals and Clinics and a handpicked group of patients are given the chance to use the medications once they meet the guidelines.  Usually not only are the medications and treatment provided to the patient without cost for the duration of the study but often the patients receive some financial compensation as well.

Unfortunately Clinical Trials often suffer serious delays due to recruitment issues – 80% of trials are delayed due to recruitment issues.  Traditional Clinical Trials are also extremely expensive and time consuming.

Currently is a push to try and cut down on that delay and several other of the problems with Clinical Trials by a company called Mytrus.  They are working to bring Clinical Trials Directly to the patients.

Direct to Patient Clinical Trials allow for rapid recruitment with no central coordinating service – participants can engage from their home. DTP Clinical Trials provide considerable savings in terms of money and time resources around a Clinical Trial.

8% of Clinical Trials can be done remotely. Through the new Direct to Patient model brought to you by Mytrus, these trials would:

  • Remove geographical constraints of traditional Clinical Trials and allow patients to participate remotely
  • Allow for rapid recruitment
  • Guarantee increased compliance among trial participants
  • Create increased convenience for both participants and physicians

Sound interesting?  Well, watch the widget on my sidebar for information regarding upcoming trials including one that is becoming available right now.

First the govenment took over GM, then our Healthcare system, now they want to control food suppliments- the restrictions and red tape will most assuredly drive up prices- those of us with tight budgets will be forced to cut back on our purchases. Of course, the US Congress has been bought out by the Large Drug companies a long time ago- you know that, right? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100329/ap_on_go_co/us_health_overhaul_pharma_s_big_win
Did you think Healthcare Reform was about helping the needy? Think again. The problem is, natural remedies keep people healthy, which reduces the profits for the the DNC and RNC’s largest campaign money contributers- the Drug companies. I strongly urge you to ask contributers to fight back, mount a national AD offensive while there’s still time! The US Government doesn’t give a Damm about “protecting consumers” …This is about power and money. Please take this seriously.
