Fashion Playtes is an online site that allows you or your daughter to design clothing for her to wear. If you have a daughter like one of mine who is very picky about what she wears, this is a dream come true! For me, was a great adventure and opportunity for my daughter to choose exactly what she wanted and open the door to discuss modesty and style as well.

On Fashion Playtes you can use the virtual sketchbook to create their own shirts, skirts, dresses, pants, hoodies, denim jackets, hats, backpacks, headbands and more. There are now matching outfits available for American Girl size dolls. Designing includes choosing the color of the fabric, the embellishments like rhinestones, graphics, ribbons and custom labels to go on the outside of the garments, showing off your daughter’s expertise.  Too cute!

P1 chose to make this dress and has absolutely loved it.  The edging on the bottom of the sleeves and dress is a fantastic shade of purple, matching nicely with the pattern colors in the dress.  Then right about about a 1/2 inch from the bottom of the dress is a nice row of rhinestones to add the perfect touch of bling.

P1 also decided to create a skirt.  It really turned out adorable.  Again, she added the edging and rhinestones and it is a perfectly modest length, ending right at her knees.

When I asked her what she liked most about being able to make her own designs, she said, “That I could choose what I wanted it to look like and change it if I wanted to.  In the end I was really happy.”

What Mom doesn’t love to hear that?  The dress and skirt are really well made too and are holding up well, without fading or shrinking.  They are running true to the measurements given on the Fashion Playtes site.

P1 was begging to make more before we had finished making the first two items and as soon as they arrived, P2 was all set with her ideas for what she wanted to make.  I am sure it is only a matter of time before P3 shares her new 4 year old ideas with me.:)
