When people come together for a party, any party, chips and dip are practically a requirement.  Potato chip and  Tortilla chip lovers alike have one thing in common – the search for a great dip. Dean’s® Dip recently gave me some vouchers to try out their dips so that I can share my thoughts with you about them as well as my honest opinion.

For our New Year’s Eve party, we tried their French Onion, Ranch and Guacamole dips. When we have dip, we normally mix up a package of dry onion soup mix with some sour cream for French Onion and a package of ranch dip mix with sour cream for Ranch dip.  For Guacamole, I have a great recipe that just takes a little time to prepare although it needs to be made ahead of time.

When we tried out the Dean’s Dips, we quickly discovered we had a different opinion for each of the flavors we tried.  The French Onion was hands down our favorite and would be a pleasant substitution for homemade.  We did not feel the same way on the Ranch however, and probably would not buy it again.  It left an aftertaste in my mouth but that could have just been me.  As for the Guacamole, it was important to remember that it was Guacamole ‘Flavored‘, largely different than homemade.  Other than that, it was just fine.  None of them tasted bad, you just needed to remember that they were not your usual varieties.  However, if you are in a rush, Dean’s® Dips are really convenient and they have a great variety of dips to compliment your chip of choice.
