Brainy Baby DVD’s are more than just your ABC’s, let me tell you!  Created with the intent of providing something reality-based and intelligent – for both parents and children, Brainy Baby was started in 1995. Their videos now feature multi-ethnic children, toe-tapping original music, nursery rhymes and instrumental classics and their product line now includes over 100 product offerings including videos, CDs, books, games, and toys!

A brand new study found that “The Brainy Baby Company today announced the results of a study conducted at the University of Texas, Austin, which found that infants/toddlers under the age of two can learn from DVDs designed to teach young children shapes. The peer reviewed study was conducted using Brainy Baby’s® Shapes & Colors DVD and will be published in The Journal of Children and Media,…”

We were sent the ABC’s and Laugh and Learn to try.  I became concerned when they arrived and stated they were  for ages 2-5 and 1-3 respectively, afraid that not only would these be monotonous for me and the rest of the family to hear but P3 herself would not enjoy them and would be bored out of her gourd.  To my great pleasure, I was wrong.  She LOVES them. (Remember, she is 3.5, attending and learning all of her ABC’s in Pre-K.)  The DVD’s

  • Introduction to upper and lower-case letters and multiple letter-sounds
  • Shows children and familiar objects
  • Young viewers will enjoy silly faces, ‘things that go’, matching games, music, and much more.
  • DVD includes special features such as: Baby Bloopers, Behind The Scenes, Video Sing-Along and an Interactive Activity and Storybook.

I now feel that they are a fantastic addition to our video collection and would give them as a gift as well as purchase them for my own daughters.  I strongly encourage people to consider Brainy Baby DVD’s when searching out educational and fun ways to teach and mesmerize their little ones.

The DVD’s retail for approximately $17.99 and can be found at locations such as Amazon.com, specialty shops near you!
