China’s Orphans – It Matters to That One Starfish

1 February 2010

You know how I love China’s Orphans. After all, they gave me my P3!  Now, of course, times have changed and it is difficult to get a healthy child from China but there are many, many children still available with what could be very remediable medical conditions here in the US and other economically advantaged countries.  Of course, you really want to be able to bring home a child who has had all of the loving care possible, just like my P3 – Not an easily guaranteed thing.

Well, at Starfish Foster Home in Xian, run by Amanda, it is most decidedly a sure thing!  Check out this Christmas video she and a friend coordinated!

Now, if you are like me, you are wanting to take at least half of them home and while I am done, the options are endless for you! Just thought I would share some of their precious faces!

I have to admit that I did not know where P3 came from, although I wondered from the picture.I have only been a follower a couple of months or so and must have missed this info.I will say however that I think it is just fantastic and too many children are left to grow up(or not) without anyone to really love them.I am fortunate enough to have 3 of my own and my husbands 2(we are a combined family-almost the brady bunch if we had 1 more girl) and so with 5 another is just not an option for me right now. I do applaud others who go this route and am so happy to see you post about it.Too many people think they can only get an American born child or close their minds to adopting from other countries or nationalities and I think that is so sad and closed minded.Hugs to you and yours-they are all adorable.

I really wish it were easier to help these children, both financially and logistically. We would adopt in a heartbeat if the cost and the trips to China weren’t prohibitive for us right now.

I am so happy there are organizations out there trying to help, it just makes me so mad that these countries don’t make it easier for the sake of the children.
