BIC2116 Because it’s Christmas 2: The Snowmans Song (prize group 2 giveaway)LAPlogo Because it’s Christmas 2: The Snowmans Song (prize group 2 giveaway)Books have always been a wonderful thing for me to have.  My parents always read to me and books were something that could transport me from this world  into another.  Now, even as an adult, this magic is something I love to share with my own children, especially special books we read only during certain times of the year.  Brought to us by the wonderful folks at Leaping Antelope Productions and by Marilee Joy Mayfield and Tracy La Rue Hohn, The Snowman’s Song is a Christmas Story that we can all relate to.

A forlorn little snowman hopes, prays and yearns with all his heart for a beautiful melodic voice so he can rejoice by singing Christmas carols just like human children do.

There is little hope that he will ever have a voice, because the snow world is quiet and snow people communicate by sensing thoughts and feelings that travel as ice droplets in the swirling cold winter air.

But when a cheery red cardinal awakens his mind and a kind young girl renews his hope, a Christmas miracle happens and the little snowman realizes his longed-for dream in a powerful, joyful, unexpected way.

I love the magical artwork on page after page.  It makes you feel like you are part of the story as you read along.  The story has a beautifully happy ending, reminding us all that kindness is at the heart of Christmas and this is most certainly a story I would want to read with my girls year after year.

The hardcover book with a matching dust cover also includes an Audio CD with a storytime recording of The Snowman’s Song read by the author.  A wonderful gift for sure.

Thankfully, Leaping Antelope Productions has generously provided The Snowman’s Song for our giveaway, but they have also provided one that is being donated to the and Families of Rattan Elementary via the Angel Tree in Anna, TX.  As I mentioned previously in our intro post, with the Economic situation and just life in general, we feel there is an even greater need for this than ever.  And this year thanks to The Snowman’s Song, a child in need will receive a  magical storybook of their very own to help brighten their Christmas.
