In the US, I would like to think that everyone has at least heard of Autism, however many of us may not be educated as to just what it is, how many varieties of it there are and just how closely it hits to many, many homes.

Autism Speaks is the nation’s largest autism science and advocacy group, dedicated to helping fund research, treatment, prevention,cause, and cure autism.  Autism does not affect just any one group of people nor does it come in any one ‘type’ of behavioral patterns.

You see, I can remember hearing about Autism first on RAINMAN with Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise.  Then I knew a family at church or two that had an autistic child.  Now, I have a brother in law with 3 sons with one form of Autism or another.  It gets closer and closer.
