Aloha Friday – Edition 6

24 October 2008
alohafriday5 Aloha Friday Edition 6As you remember, in Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that folks take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So following Kailani’s lead, I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.
If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link over on An Island Life. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

As I mentioned, it was our anniversary this week and the hubby and I are eagerly looking forward to celebrating it by getting away for a couple of days in November, sans kiddos. We are just going to be nearby in Dallas but totally looking forward to time alone! We will likely sleep in, go out to eat, wander through a great mall, and probably go see the current King Tut exhibit at our local museum. All of this brings me to my question this week:

What is YOUR favorite romantic getaway?

I cannot wait to see your answers and visit as many of you as possible. Everyone seems to come up with such great questions!

Caio!

I can’t even think of any place romantic. Pretty sad, huh?

The beach. I love the ocean and I love walking along the surf hand in hand with my husband.

Hubby and I have been to several places before we had kids that were wonderful and had lots of romantic opportunities. Boston, Montreal, Niagara Falls, Disney World, Las Vegas (that was our last trip before we found out we were expecting the first time).

    Happy Anniversary!

We don’t really have one. I do dream about the getaways we’ll have when the kids are older. Right now, I can’t even go outside by myself without my daughter pitching a fit! Someday, I’ll look back on these days longingly…or at least that’s what I tell myself ;) .

Wow, sadly enough, we haven’t taken one since our honeymoon, over eight years ago. I have no idea though – at this point, anywhere we could get away to would be wonderful. :)

HAHAHAHA…….we dont go anywhere without our son! Even the beach i see as a family place! We have a condo and go all the time…but my whole family usually goes! We havent gone on a vacation BY OURSELVES since our honeymoon!

We love the coastal beach areas or the mountains with a roaring fire when we are looking for a romantic getaway.

We’ve never done the “romantic getaway” so I really am not sure. :)

After 20 years it depends on what you call romance. If you mean me at a spa and him on the golf course, I’ll go with Sedona, AZ.
    LOL

how sad is it that I think any place is romantic if it is just me and Dh. Only because it is rarely just the two of us!

    Happy Anniversary!!!

My husband and I have been lucky enough to take some VERY romantic cruises without the kids. It was wonderful!

One thing we do on vacation is have a romantic dinner on our balcony when on vacation. The kids are usually watching a DVD or asleep, and then we get take out from whatever the fancy shmancy restaurant is at the hotel. It feels like we are having dinner without them.

A romantic get away would be a day drive, through a part of the country where the leaves are changing color right now. To stop and take pictures as we go. At the end of the day, stop at someplace like Outback or Texas Roadhouse — a place we know we like, and just enjoyed the company of each other.

We are celebrating our 25th next week.
