About Us
I am Alyson, ‘haute’ blog mama to the fabulous 3 P’s. I started this blog in early 2006 in an effort to more pleasantly pass the time while my family and I waited (and waited and waited and…:)) for the go-ahead from China to travel there to adopt our wonderfully precocious third and final daughter. As I learned the ins and outs of blogging, I found I really and truly LOVED it…who knew?! So, even though our sweet girl came home in June of 2007, here I am and here I happily stay.
My blog has transitioned from being an adoption centric blog now and is on it’s way to many a wonderful thing, I just know it!
My Fantastic family is made up of:
- Awesome hubby Brett of 16+ years (who is secretly proud of what I have learned to do here),
- Terrifical cat Bijou – a Russian Blue mix
- Mom/scrapbook/travel buddy Julie (who is probably my biggest fan here)
- P1, P2 and P3, my 3 amazing girls
- and of course, Me!
Since all 3 of my girls have names beginning with the letter ‘P’, well, they are my 3 P’s and I am the 3 P’s Mama…get it?
That is also where the blog’s name came from. Our shorthand for them at home is to refer to them chronologically by age as P1, P2, and P3 so that is what I call them here.
P1 is our first child born in my heart via domestic adoption and she has changed our lives forever. She gives High Maintenance and Drama Queen new meanings but has an incredibly tender heart and the ability to make everyone feel like she is their best friend. She is also as smart as a whip and keeps us oh-so on our toes.
P2 is our physical miracle baby. After not getting pregnant and not getting pregnant and not getting pregnant, she snuck up on us and was a wonderful surprise, right after P1’s adoption was finalized. Of course, knowing her now, I am not one bit surprised. She is the most wonderful, magical, unique creature who delights me constantly with her dancing, smiling, giggling and more. She too has her less stellar moments but she is so much her own person, sometimes I wish I could be more like her when I grow up!
P3 has been a hard-won challenge to be sure and worth every single hour, tear, and sleepless night it has taken to get to where we are. Adopted from China in June of 2007, she is a delightfully wacky and crazy child. She has a fabulous laugh and smile that lights up the room. I call her my Wild Thing because she is so curious that she knows no fear (some of that could have to do with her age;)
My hubby Brett is a computer programmer, wonderful hubby and outstanding father. I have convinced him to join me in reviewing some products so watch for that upcoming. Besides all thing computer and techie, he loves camping, Star Trek and Star Wars, loves to play with his kids and watch movies with his wife.
Me, I try to keep up with all of them, I write freelance and blog of course, enjoy scrap booking, reading and travel in my minimal spare time and try to keep some unpleasant rounds of depression at bay. I have a big heart and an opinion on most things, making my blog the perfect outlet.
Feel free to stop in and stay a while!
